Pumpkin Patch

Sunday afternoon, Jacob and I went to the pumpkin patch to get some pumpkins.
Jacob loved the pumpkins.

First Step

Friday evening, Jacob and I were playing in his room before his bath.
Jacob pulled up on the changing table and let go - he stood there for a few minutes to make sure he was balanced. Then he took a step and fell.
Oh course, I didn't have my camera - but I'll get that picture soon, I'm sure.
Here are some pictures from Saturday.
He was wearing his Monster Mash shirt he got from his Aunt Lindy and climbing on everything.

8 months

Oct. 16, Jacob turned 8 months old.
He is so BIG!!!
Here are his 8 month pictures
This time it was hard to get his picture just sitting there with Pluto - because he didn't want to just sit there.

Went on down to the Audubon Zoo

...I went on down to the Audubon Zoo
And they all axed for you
They even knew alot about you
They all axed for you
The monkeys axed The tigers axed And the elephants axed me too....

Saturday, Oct 14, we went to the New Orleans Zoo.
Jacob, me, Nonna, Aunt Karrie, & Sophia.
We had a really great time.
Karrie kept singing the Audubon Zoo song (above) for all of us.
I will have more pictures to post as I get them from Karrie, but here are a few
Jacob loved feeding the giraffes. They were so close and he thought it was the best thing. Sophia I think was a little scared of them. It's hard to see him in the above picture, but it was really hard to get a good shot.
Karrie & Sophia feeding a giraffe.
They loved the petting zoo - Jacob loved touching the animals!!

Jacob was acting like the hippopotamus that he was riding. He looks just like the hippo!!

The wheels on the bus....

Go round & round -
JACOB LOVES WHEELS
- any ride on toy he has, he flips it upside down to play with the wheels
Hmmm -the future Galloway race car driver
Here's Jacob playing on the back deck

A few pictures from our last trip to VA - Jacob on the race car

And it's only appropriate to have some pictures of him in his "8" jumper

Here's Lance & Jacob on race day (Talladega that is)

Dinner Time

If you haven't noticed, our son, Jacob, is very serious about his food (like his daddy).
He doesn't normally try to feed himself (except snacks) because he wants to make sure it gets to his mouth and not on the floor. But, last week, I cooked a lasagna (in case anyone was wondering - it was as good - if not better - as nonna's - sorry mom - but I'm getting really good at this).
I cut it up into bite size pieces on a plate with some peas.
Jacob fed himself and loved it. And, the majority of it did go into his mouth. The rest, in his hair, on his face, on the floor (which Abby ate), in the chair, in his diaper, etc.

Boys will be Boys

Jacob loves to climb on everything - including the brick fireplace step.

So, it was only a matter of time before his first real accident. Friday, he was crawling by the fireplace and turned to sit and slipped and hit his face on the brick.

And yes - I have put a fireplace cover so this won't happen again.

Not a little baby anymore

On Sept 20, I heard Jacob in his crib playing as he normally does in the morning.
Then he started making this little noise he makes when he wants someone to come get him.

I went into his room and this is what I found (I ran and got my camera)........

He was standing in the corner of his bed laughing at me. That night Lance & I lowered the bed down. He still pulls up, but now he won't be able to climb out anytime soon.

He is growing SO fast....

On his last doctor's visit (Sept 19) he weighed 20 lbs 12 oz

He is crawling sometimes, but still scoots around to get places fast.

He is pulling up on everything

He can go from his belly to sitting up - he thinks that trick is fabulous, he does it over & over again

He is eating just about anything we give to him - he loves spaghetti, rice, and cherrios

He has 2 teeth (see previous post)

His Nonna takes him to the park every day now for lunch (if it's cool enough - it was in the 90s today - not October weather) and then a walk around - he loves this - he loves seeing all the people

He is developing his own little personality

I love watching him change every day

First Tooth

We came home from VA on Monday Sept 18 and Jacob had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday Sept 19.
When we went to the doctor's office Tuesday, the doctor said a tooth had cut through.
Last night (Oct 2), his second tooth cut through.
I don't have any pictures of his little teeth right now, so here are some other pictures I have taken recently.

I'm Back

Okay - where was I - since my last post
On Sept 15, we went to VA for Walt's 60th Birthday Party

Saturday is race night.
Here is Jacob at the race track.

The track was too wet to race. Once they canceled the races, we decided to go race each other at the indoor go-cart track. Here are a few pictures from the night.

We weren't sure if Virginia would make the height requirement to drive the go-cart....

Still Here

Okay, Okay, Okay
Everyone has been bugging me because I haven't posted recently.
Sorry - I've been busy. But, I do have lots of new stuff to post.
You won't believe how much little Jacob has changed in the past 3 weeks.
(But I'll get back to that later)
Stay Tuned..... I'll be back..... This weekend

Future Plumber

The company I work for, J.H. Wright & Associates, had a "Grand" weekend the weekend of Jacob's baptism. Although we were not able to attend, they had shirts made for everyone.
They ordered Jacob a 12 month (he's 6 months) - I don't think he'll be able to wear it much longer, it's already tight on him.

Extra Pics

Labor Day....

...and we did labor
Jacob has started getting around the house very quickly. He's between a scoot and a crawl - he pulls himself around for a little bit, then he gets up on his hands & knees and pushes off. He also loves to be in his walker. He chases everyone around in that thing. He loves to chase Sophia & Abby - I think because they are on his level.
Because he's getting around so well, Lance & I spent the weekend building gates for the back deck. Lance did a really great job on the gates. (I'll add pictures later) We also cleaned off everything, so Jacob has a big area where he can play.
Here's a picture from Saturday morning of Jacob crawling around with Abby as we were getting ready for the game. Jacob has on his Penn State outfit.

Jacob loves to walk around. He laughs when you hold his hands and let him walk - although he looks scared in this picture, he was actually laughing.

This morning I needed to do some cleaning, so I put Jacob in his walker in the kitchen with me. Next thing I know this is where I found him.....
He sat there for 20 minutes watching our front loading washing machine spin clothes around!!

Pictures with Gram

Here are a couple of pictures of Jacob with his Gram while she was visiting for his Baptism

6 months

On August 16, Jacob turned 6 months old - we are half way to the first year. So much has changed recectly, I don't know where to start.
A couple of days before the 6 month mark, Jacob has been getting up on his hands and knees - rocking. But, I haven't been able to capture this yet.
Here are just some pictures I took over the past couple of weeks.

Here's his 6 month progression picture - look at how BIG he's getting. He looks so long in this pictures

Here's a picture of Jacob with Daddy & Abby on our new living room furniture.
