Most Beautiful Boy in the World

I can't stop looking at our son!!
He is so beautiful and every day is a new adventure.
He does something new all the time. He's smiling more.
He laughs at me. He talks all the time.
This morning, I propped him on our bed with some pillows while I was getting dressed.
I didn't realize that I had left a burp cloth on the bed next to him.
When I looked over at him, he had picked up the cloth and (of course) had it in his mouth.
Tonight, we got on the floor and played. We talked, Jacob put his hands together repeatedly.
On his belly, he tries so hard to crawl and he can almost turn over.

No more Fever

Finally - 6 days later Jacob no longer has a fever.

Today I took him to work with me for a few hours.
I had planned to work all day, but about halfway through the day he had an accident (out of his diaper) - I went to change his outfit and realized I didn't have any clothes in his diaper bag except for a pair of pants. So, I had a naked baby and of course I needed to run errands on the way home.
Here is what my poor baby looked like on the way home - when I stopped at the bank, I threw a blanket over him. They were properly thinking what a crazy woman to have her child wrapped in a blanket when it's 90 degrees.
I have restocked the diaper bag and put a couple of outfits in the trunk in case this happens again.

New Movements

Jacob has started swatting at items. It happens so quickly and sporadically that I haven't been able to capture it with the camera.
Yesterday, he also put his hands together. He's also started grabbing on tightly to things - such as hair, necklaces. He got really upset tonight and his hand was on my arm, he pinched my arm so hard that I almost cried (he's such a strong little boy).
Now, whenever I get the camera out to take pictures of him laughing & smiling, he stops and starts studying the camera.
He studies everything now. He watches my mouth movements when I talk to him and he tries to copy them. He's saying all kinds of words, although other than A-GOO, I can't understand what he's trying to say.
Here are a couple pictures I snapped tonight just to have some pictures.

Nap Time

Sunday afternoon Nap Time
Since Jacob has been sick, he hasn't been sleeping/napping well. He was doing great - sleeping about 7 hours at night, then when he was in the hospital, they came in to take his vitals every 2 hours. Then Friday & Saturday night, he didn't want to sleep either - I don't know if we are back to square one or if it's just because he was sick.
Also, for naps he wants to be held, he won't sleep in his pack n' play (where he naps during the day - downstairs in the living room).
Today he fell asleep on his boppy on the couch. Abby crawled up next to him on the couch.

Growing Boy

Jacob had his measurements recorded at the hospital
and he's GROWING GROWING GROWING

At Birth.....8 lbs 7 ozs......20 7/8 inches
1 Month.....10 lbs 4 ozs......22 1/2 inches
2 Months........13 lbs........24 7/8 inches
This was taken Sunday afternoon - we were sitting outside enjoying the weather. Jacob was still running a fever (around 100) all day Sunday.

Sick baby

Thursday morning Jacob woke up with a fever (over 102).
We went to the doctor's office and Dr McNair admitted him to the hospital to run some tests.
After getting blood drawn, an IV started, and all the other stuff (He cried during all that) - we found out that he had Rotavirus. We were lucky the only symptom he had was fever no vomiting or diarrhea. Jacob never acted sick other than sleeping more than normal.
He smiled & played with us (Nonna came to help) while strapped to monitors.
Pictures of Jacob's first (and hopefully last) hospital stay.

2 Months

April 16
Jacob turned 2 months on Easter
That night I tired to get some progression pictures of him with his Pluto dog but he was tired of taking pictures.
I tired to get them in his little outfit, but then ended up giving him a bath and changing him into pajamas before I could get a picture with him smiling!!
Here are the best ones

Now let's look at both months and see if there's a difference

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday, we went to church and then to Uncle Tony & Aunt Leah's for the day.
Things didn't work out exactly as scheduled that morning, so Jacob was off schedule all morning. Because he was off schedule, he didn't nap very well and when we wanted him to take pictures, he wasn't very corporative.
I put Jacob down next to Sophia and he was crying (I woke him from a nap to take pictures).

So, Sophia leaned over and gave Jub Jub a big hug to make him feel better

It worked - Jacob stopped crying for a little while at least
Here is Jacob and me

Saturday

Here are a couple of pictures from Saturday.
Nonna was playing with Jacob making him laugh, laugh, laugh

First his surprised look

Good Friday

Okay, I have some catching up to do - first
Good Friday - I was off work and Nonna was in town visiting so we had Sophia come over to spend the day with Jacob (and us).
After Sophia got to the house, Nonna & I needed to get dressed. We were all upstairs playing and I put Jacob in his crib (to watch his mobile which he loves to do - thanks Alecia for the fabulous gift). Well Sophia wanted to get in with him. Of course, we started taking pictures of them.

Sophia next to Jacob

Sophia would lay down and say "Jub Jub night night" - Sophia calls Jacob - Jub Jub

New Look

I've changed the look of our blog and changed some settings.
You can now post comments even if you aren't a registered user.
So, be sure to post comments!!!

It's still a work in progress so "pardon our construction"
I will be posting more pictures soon - I'm a busy girl now-a-days!!

Sophia

Sophia plays with all of Jacob's toys when she comes over to visit.
Here she insisted on getting in his activity center. (Look at her legs!!) She still had a really good time - even though she didn't fit very well.
Nonna & Pop bought a swing for us to hang in the back for Jacob & Sophia to use.
Since, it had not been hung yet, Uncle Tony decided to swing Sophia around in our living room - She LOVED it!! The higher & faster, the better.

Thursday night - Nonna, Uncle Tony, Aunt Leah, Uncle Leon, Aunt Karrie, and Sophia came over for dinner and to dye Easter eggs.
Here are some pictures of Sophia & Uncle Tony dying the eggs.

First Portrait Session

Okay - sorry I haven't posted in a while. My camera has been in MS for the past week, so I haven't had any pictures to post. I still have pictures to post from last weekend - so things will be out of order.
Today, Jacob had his first portrait session. He did so good - he smiled and laughed for some of the photos and was serious for others.
Here are some of the pictures I "borrowed" from the Sears website.
I'll send out the link to the Sears website, but don't order any pictures from them - I purchased enough for anyone who wants some pictures.
I know Lance is not going to be happy to hear this, but I think he looks a little like me now.
Here are some more!!

Here's our little Elvis smile - (He looks like Lance when he smiles like this!!)

We had to get one of his feet!!

He didn't want to cooperate in this picture and keep his hand on his cheek nor would he close his mouth - I don't care for this picture at all.
